We are seeking a Medical Officer who will work in their Emergency Department and the In-patient Care Ward, where the range of medical care is complex and interesting. This is a 28 bed rural hospital with a busy Accident and Medical Department, Outpatient Clinics, Operating Theatres, combined Medical, Surgical and Paediatric Ward and many community based services.
The hospital provides care for a scattered population of 25,000 as well as the huge influx of tourists in the summer period.
A generous salary package and relocation allowance is offered and there is substantial support for Continuing Medical Education.
This position is open to non-specialist level doctors. We’d like to hear from applicants with both general medicine experience and three years or more working in an emergency medicine department in New Zealand or a comparable health system.
