International medical graduates (IMGs) planning to work in Australia or New Zealand now need to use MyIntealth, the new system launched by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). This platform replaces the previous EPIC service for verifying medical qualifications.

MyIntealth explained

MyIntealth is a new online portal where doctors can:

  • Upload and verify medical qualifications
  • Pay fees and track progress
  • Communicate directly with ECFMG

It still uses primary source verification, meaning your university or medical authority confirms the authenticity of your credentials before they are sent to the Australian Medical Council (AMC) or Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).

Why the Change From EPIC?

MyIntealth simplifies the process by combining everything in one system.  It’s faster, easier to use, and offers better security.  Existing EPIC users will have their verified documents moved to MyIntealth automatically.

The Benefits

This new system makes it quicker and simpler for international doctors to complete their verification and start working in Australia or New Zealand.  We recommend setting up your MyIntealth account early to avoid any delays once your registration or job application begins.

IMGs’ next steps

  1. Create or log into your MyIntealth account.
  2. Upload your medical degree and other qualifications.
  3. Submit them for primary source verification.
  4. Track your progress and respond to updates online.
  5. Send verified documents to AHPRA or MCNZ to support your registration.
