If you’re a radiologist trained in the UK and are exploring opportunities to work in Australia, here’s the latest update on the recognition of your qualifications.

The Medical Board of Australia has taken further steps in assessing international specialist qualifications as part of its commitment to maintaining high standards in medical practice across the country.
The Medical Board of Australia has been working closely with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists to understand how UK qualifications align with Australian standards. As part of the Expedited Specialist Pathway, these qualifications have been referred to the Australian Medical Council (AMC) for formal assessment.
This review is still in progress. A report from the AMC is expected by the end of the year, although additional time may be needed if complexities arise.
