The just-published World Happiness Report shows New Zealand still ranks eighth in the world for happiness, behind Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, Finland, the Netherlands and Canada, and just ahead of Australia and Sweden.
Six key variables help predict levels of happiness around the world. They are GDP per capita, healthy years of life expectancy, social support, perceived lack of corruption, freedom to make life decisions, and generosity, as measured by donation levels. All the top 10 countries rated highly on these factors.
Is 2017 the year of happiness for you and your family? If you’re not thinking of moving to Scandinavia, then New Zealand or Australia could be your happy place.
